Karsyn’s Krusaders is not just about a little girl from Iowa and her battle with cancer. Karsyn’s Krusaders is a way to bring people from across the country and across the globe together to raise awareness and money to help others affected by cancer. Karsyn’s Krusaders wants to reach all people and get them involved in the cause so we can help as many people affected by cancer as possible. We are expanding our message from the world of dirt track racing to people everywhere and we invite you to learn more about and how you can join the fight.
Karsyn’s Krusaders Benefits Many Other Charities
Selfless donations of our sponsors and supporters being put to work. Our organization could not make a difference without you! In addition to planning many events throughout the year and partnering with other individuals and organizations to spread awareness and provide support, Karsyn’s Krusaders is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. Whether it is coordinating a “card drive”, planning special recognition events at tracks for cancer survivors or simply sharing stories and offering support to others who battle this disease, Karsyn’s Krusaders is here to show that small actions, thoughts deeds and dollars can make a large impact, especially when we all work together!
One of the largest and most meaningful donations came to fruition in November 2016. Our $25,000 donation to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital resulted in a Nourishment Room on the Pediatric Oncology floor. But, more importantly, it played a role in making a state-of-the-art Children’s Hospital possible.
A $5,000 donation was made to support a unique HopeKids project for nearly 1,200 cancer kids and their family members in three different states; Texas, Arizona, Minnesota. The children and their families were able to enjoy “The Peanuts Movie” in a private, safe, and accepting environment with all refreshments included as well as a pre-viewing gathering, and they even received KK shirts!
Love, Chloe Foundation
Our $5,000 contribution to Love Chloe Foundation provided financial support for Kansas families, funded groundbreaking research for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) cancer, and brought a “community of monkeys to Iowa to help elementary aged childred who are undergoing treatment. The “Monkey in My Chair” program is an amazing way to help families, peers, and school related contacts navigate the cancer journey.
KK’s $5,000 donation to Families Fighting Childhood Cancer made a Back to School program for more than 700 cancer patients and their siblings possible. It also paid for an entire year of support groups hosted by FFCC, and provided $1,000 in financial assistance to help with gas and parking costs for families with children undergoing active treatment.
After the loss of a child, driver Jason Krohn and his family partnered with KK as a random act of kindness in memory of their daughter and sister Natalie. This three-year project was specifically designed to help others who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child. Together KK and the Krohn Family raised $67,000 as part of their “Hope & Healing” endeavor. With $37,000 benefiting unique projects at Faith’s Lodge in Danbury, WI, and $30,000 impacting families at Give Kids the World in Kissimmee, FL.
Give Kids the World – Hope and Healing Project
After witnessing the priceless gift Capturing Hopes provides to families who have been forced into the cancer world, a $5,000 donation was made to said organization. It is almost impossible to believe that the donation made by Karsyn’s Krusaders to this 100% volunteer organization that was formed by a cancer family, will cover the organizations entire annual budget. Capturing Hopes has perfected the art of making a significant difference with minimal expenses, fitting in perfectly with our mission…every dollar matters!
Karsyn’s Krusaders donated $12,000 in connection with “Destination Inspire” and in support of a hematology/oncology/bone marrow transplant research project specifically relating to unsuccessful bone marrow transplants in pediatric patients.
Karsyn’s Krusaders was responsible for a nearly $9,000 deck renovation project, complete with deck furniture, which included a visit at the unveiling from open late model driver Chad Simpson, his car owner, Bud Brinkman, and their #25 Late Model.
Provides an online space where you can connect, share news and receive support. Karsyn’s Krusaders donation in the amount of $5,000 was instrumental in the launching of the online ‘Support System’, which now assists families with needs and coordinates volunteer efforts to aid families dealing with cancer and serious illness.
Karsyn’s Krusaders financially adopted and participated in granting three wishes for children suffering from life-threatening illnesses.
Karsyn’s Krusaders sponsored a $1,000 scholarship, as chosen by said organization, which is focused on the needs and support of siblings of cancer patients.
Karsyn’s Krusaders made a $5,000 contribution to assist with a research grant focused on the treatment of patients with high-risk cancers. ALSF is an organization that was founded by cancer parents and is focused on raising funds for cancer research.
Karsyn’s Krusaders donated $8,000 in support of a free, three-day educational retreat providing New Mexico’s adult cancer patients/survivors and their families (more than 250 people) with the tools and information they need to better manage the survival process.
Karsyn’s Krusaders provided $2,000 in support of a free six-day cancer camp for 200 patients, as well as a follow-up six-day camp experience for nearly 200 siblings. The camp is complete with medical staff, endless activities, surprise visitors, great food and emotional support.
Karsyn’s Krusaders provided $3,000 to help restock supplies needed. GKTW is a 70-acre resort where families stay at no charge, complete with over 140 villa accommodations, entertainment attractions, whimsical venues and fun specifically designed for children suffering from medical illness.
Karysn’s Krusaders and its supporters rallied and contributed nearly $5,000 during a local telethon held in support of St. Jude.
In addition to the donations listed above, donations have been provided in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, University of Iowa Children’s Hospital, Liam’s Lighthouse, Dance Marathon, American Cancer Society and many, many, others. Karsyn’s Krusader’s Board of Directors continually seeks organizations and explores projects that fit our mission and vision with the goal of making the most impact in the lives of others who are working to ‘Kick Cancer’s Butt’.
